....spent an exciting day filling cracks and painting the bathroom. ya know,no matter how clean you think you are, bathrooms are disgusting. i did find that pavement provides an excellent background while painting. "slanted & enchanted" specifically. i had not listened to this in a good couple of years so it was a nice surprise to me to find how fine it still sounds. enjoyed it so much it's going back on now.

....thanks to brap for pointing this story out::
General Taken Off Bombing Probe. not much to say about this.....i am sure all that will come of these investigations is a rap on the knuckles for those involved.

...wtf?boybands? comments like this are kinda perplexing.i was and still am a fan of isdn/dead cities era fsol.....but this was a bizarre thing to say. from the few listens i've given "the isness",don't know that i will be too interested in remixes either.

....i read many blogs and what really impresses me is how well people write. i am really envious of people like tom,jess, paul and of course many others.i don't know if these bloggers have been writing for years or whether it just comes really natural to them. what i am starting to realize it that i probably will never be of the calibre they are.
...to that end i am gonna renove my stats keeper because i am of the mind that it has become an albatross. i check every other day to see who might have read and get kinda down when no-one has . i also hope that it will enable me to become a bit free-er of speech.if i believe that i am alone in this,i might not be so stiff.i still would like my friends to read this,but i would invite you to add some comments once in a while.tell me you think i am full-o-shit.
...another thing i wonder about other bloggers is if they talk about music with friends or co-workers.i have been this out of step music geek for as long as i can remember. i remember buying the first queen album back in grade 11. it was new,no-one i knew had heard of them before and i had gone downtown on my lunch to get it at "kellys" in nanaimo.thrilled with my purchase and eager to discuss it with anyone the first person i met upon my return to school was a jr.A hockey player.
jock::"whatcha got in the bag?"
me::"just the queen album."
jock::"they look like fags!" (turns out he was a perseptive jock)
...so off i went to listen to my new vinyl with no-one to talk about it with.this was and remains a common occurence.although the internet has opened up alot of "chat" for me,it still involves typing ,not an easy thing for this two-digit keyboard stabber.

...andy diey has put a COMPLETE Apple G3 Music System up on ebay. he records under the black faction & foreign terrain names. included in the auction are all of his releases it appears,with the mask 300 that was released on skam in a limited run of 300. just wish i had some $$...

....i too spent a lot of time on soulseek this past weekend as badgerminor wrote in his blog.stuff i grabbed::
low - trust:: this comes out next month on the 23rd.definately will grab it for the first half of the cd alone. things start out strong with "that's how you sing amazing grace".followed up with a rocker???"canada". unfortunately it appears to drag after about 7 tracks wth the dreary "john prine" song a particular sour spot.
fire show - grabbed amixed bag of their tracks . amg namechecks gang of four in their review of "Above the Volcano of Flowers" but i don't hear it. the grifters come to mind though.
closer musik - saw some buzz on the idm-moderated list about this release.this is on the kompakt label and has yet to grab me yet.
disco inferno - "technicolour" and also "d.i. go pop":: another band [their are so many] that i am late to discover. did jess take his blog's name from a d.i. album? this is a band that upon further listens i will really like. sometimes the music that i end up liking the most is the stuff that slowly unravels as i listen to it. god i sound like a nerd.
christ - pylonesque:: haven't listened to it or the others i am about to list.
savath + savalas - rolls and waves ep
lone pigeon - concubine rice
pop ambient 2001
map station - "sleep, engin#1c1b8
...so lots of listening to get too!
